Job summary

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a dynamic secondary school in Sheffield from September 2026. This role offers both full-time and part-time options and involves supporting students across year groups by delivering pre-set work in the absence of teachers.

You will manage classroom behaviour, maintain continuity of learning, and liaise with staff to report on progress. A DBS check is required or willingness to obtain one; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths are required.
• A-Levels or degree are desirable.
• Experience with young people (e.g. in schools, youth work, tutoring) is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to build rapport with students and staff.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

About the role

Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor(s) to join a dynamic secondary school in Sheffield from September 2026. This position has both full-time and part-time offers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students across a range of year groups and subjects, providing essential support in the absence of teaching staff. For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to become permanent.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You’ll be expected to manage classroom behaviour, deliver pre-set work, and ensure students remain engaged and focused.
