Job summary

The Supply Register, in partnership with Birley Academy, seeks a Cover Supervisor in Sheffield to support learning during teacher absence. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-set materials, and maintain a positive learning environment to help pupils stay focused and engaged.

Ideal candidates will have experience with secondary students, strong behaviour management, and a professional communication style. Enhanced DBS on Update Service is desirable or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged students.
• Confident with classroom and behaviour management.
• Effective and professional communication.
• Understanding safeguarding responsibilities.
• Willing to obtain Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

The Supply Register is working in partnership with Birley Academy to recruit a Cover Supervisor to support the school with high-quality, flexible staffing.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who is confident leading a classroom and supporting learning in the absence of the class teacher.

The role includes:

• Supervising whole classes during teacher absence
• Delivering pre-set lesson materials
• Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment
• Supporting students to stay focused and engaged
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Providing feedback on pupil progress and behaviour

We re looking for candidates who:

• Have experience working with secondary-aged students
• Are confident with classroom and behaviour management
• Communicate effectively and professionally
• Understand safeguarding responsibilities
• Hold high expectations for student behaviour and learning
• Hold (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
