Job summary

TeacherActive in Dudley is seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor to work with a mainstream secondary school. You will supervise classes across the age range, deliver pre-planned work and confidently manage behaviour while keeping learners engaged.

You will rely on strong IT skills to support lesson delivery, use school systems and interactive whiteboards, and bring flexible, reliable, proactive approach to a long-term, ongoing placement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a secondary school classroom role.
• Proven ability to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong IT skills and confidence using school systems and interactive whiteboards.
• Experience delivering pre-planned lessons across secondary subjects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Dudley
Start Date: November 2026
Salary: £110 - £150 per day

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor with strong classroom and behaviour management skills?

Do you have excellent IT skills and the confidence to use technology effectively in a secondary school classroom?

Are you adaptable, reliable and able to confidently manage challenging behaviour while keeping students engaged with their learning?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Secondary School based in Dudley. The school provides a supportive learning environment with a focus on maintaining high expectations, promoting positive behaviour and encouraging students to engage with their education.

The school is looking for an experienced Cover Supervisor for long-term placements, with flexible day-to-day work also available. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise classes across the secondary age range, deliver pre-planned work, confidently manage classroom behaviour and use their strong IT skills to support lesson delivery and ensure students remain focused and engaged.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom-based role within a secondary school
• Proven experience managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Strong IT skills, including confidence using school systems, interactive whiteboards and digital learning resources
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach, with the ability to manage challenging situations confidently
