Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Dudley is recruiting an experienced Cover Supervisor to support a mainstream secondary school. You will supervise classes across the age range, deliver pre-planned work, and maintain high behaviour standards while using your IT skills to support lesson delivery.

This long-term role offers on-site, full-time hours with PAYE pay and ongoing CPD opportunities. Salary ranges from £110 to £150 per day, with a November 2026 start and a closing date of 22 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or similar in a secondary school
• Proven ability to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong IT skills including using school systems and digital resources
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons across secondary subjects
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills
• Flexible, reliable and proactive in challenging situations

The school is looking for an experienced Cover Supervisor for long-term placements, with flexible day‑to‑day work also available. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise classes across the secondary age range, deliver pre‑planned work, confidently manage classroom behaviour and use their strong IT skills to support lesson delivery and ensure students remain focused and engaged.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom‑based role within a secondary school
• Proven experience managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Strong IT skills, including confidence using school systems, interactive whiteboards and digital learning resources
• Confidence delivering pre‑planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach, with the ability to manage challenging situations confidently
