Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Start Date: October 2026
Salary: £110 - £150 per day

Are you a confident and resilient Cover Supervisor with exceptionally strong behaviour and classroom management skills?

Can you take control of challenging classroom situations, deal firmly and professionally with misbehaviour and maintain high expectations?

Are you confident following a school's behaviour and discipline policy consistently while keeping students focused on their learning?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Secondary School based in Stoke. The school maintains high expectations for behaviour and learning and requires staff who can confidently uphold its standards and contribute to a structured classroom environment.

The school is looking for a strong and assertive Cover Supervisor for long‑term placements, with flexible day‑to‑day work also available. The successful Cover Supervisor must be able to take firm control of the classroom, confidently challenge poor behaviour, follow the school's behaviour and discipline policy consistently and ensure students complete the pre‑planned work provided.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting
• Excellent classroom management skills and the confidence to take control of challenging classes
• Proven ability to manage misbehaviour firmly, calmly and consistently
• Confidence implementing and following school behaviour and discipline policies
• The resilience and strength of character required to maintain clear boundaries and high expectations
• Confidence delivering pre‑planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
