Job summary

Mana Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors to support Peterborough and surrounding areas. You will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils stay focused and complete work prepared by the school.

This role does not require lesson planning or marking by the supervisor. We welcome experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants seeking more responsibility, and graduates exploring teaching.

Qualifications

• Experience as Cover Supervisor or classroom support preferred.
• Clear communication and confidence to manage a classroom.
• A degree or education qualification is useful but not essential for every vacancy.
• Ability to work across KS3 and KS4 and adapt to different schools.

Responsibilities

• Explain set tasks and check pupils understand instructions.
• Maintain a calm, productive classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policy.
• Encourage participation and keep pupils on task.
• Take registers and follow school procedures.
• Collect completed work and provide feedback to staff.
• Report safeguarding or welfare concerns promptly.
