Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Cover Supervisor in Middlesbrough to support KS3 and KS4 students. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, maintain a positive learning environment, and help pupils stay engaged.

The role requires building strong relationships with pupils and staff, managing behaviour, and recording progress. QTS or PGCE is desirable; you must have the right to work in the UK and an updated DBS certificate.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of schools looking for Cover Supervisors in Middlesbrough to work in the KS3 and KS4 settings. Your role will be focused on maintaining excellent classroom behaviour and supporting students across a range of subjects.

About the role:

• Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
• Managing behaviours within the classroom and building positive relationships with the pupils, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to succeed.
• Identifying pupils who might be struggling and providing additional support where required and keeping an accurate up to date record on all progress
• Working collaboratively with other teaching and support staff.

Pay, hours and contract:

• Pay: Up to £120 per day
• Hours: 8:30am - 15:30pm, Monday - Friday
• Contract: Full time, temporary with the potential of going permanent
• Start date: September 2026
• Location: Middlesbrough

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role or setting, ideally within a school environment
• QTS or PGCE desired
• Confident working within a group setting
• An ability to build healthy relationships with pupils and staff
• Kind, positive and proactive nature
• Right to work in the UK
• Hold an updated DBS certificate on the update service or the willingness to process a new application
