Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a motivated Cover Supervisor to join our staff team. You will join an existing cover supervisor to take responsibility for classes during short-term teacher absence, delivering pre-prepared exercises and maintaining positive student engagement under senior staff guidance.

The role offers opportunities for professional learning, with enhanced DBS checks required. Welsh language Level 2 verbal ability is expected, with support available to reach this level

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated Cover Supervisor to join our staff team and work alongside an existing cover supervisor in taking responsibility for classes during short-term teacher absence. This role will include the supervision of whole classes during short-term absences of class teachers under the guidance of teaching/senior staff, delivery of pre-prepared exercises, building positive relationships with students and managing behaviour. The opportunity is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with students in an educational setting, supporting and assisting them in relevant activities in line with school policies and procedures.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable working experience in a classroom setting for anyone with a desire to join the teaching profession., An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this job.
