Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Caerphilly and Bargoed. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and support pupils in completing set work, helping maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The role offers flexible, part-time hours from a minimum of 3 days per week for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced educators who enjoy working with young people. Start date is September 2026.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Experience with young people in school, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring or similar setting.
• Confident managing classroom behaviour, including challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available to work a minimum of 3 days per week.
• Adaptable and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Pay: £120-£140 per day (depending on experience)

Job Type: Flexible Supply (Minimum 3 days per week)

Are you confident, reliable and passionate about supporting young people? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Caerphilly and Bargoed. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking for flexible work within education.

The Role

Essential Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
• Right to work in the UK.
