Job summary

Connex Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors to support the secondary phase in Dudley. You will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and maintaining engagement.

The role offers a competitive daily rate (£110-£130), weekly PAYE, and opportunities to progress through funded qualifications. A DBS check and safeguarding commitment are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising children in a secondary school setting.
• Degree in education or equivalent qualification.
• Patient, nurturing and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.
• Strong communication with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding with an enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.

About the role

We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to join the Secondary Phase of a dynamic and inclusive Academy in Dudley. The school is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals who can provide short‑term classroom cover, with longer‑term opportunities available for those able to commit to extended placements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during the short‑term absence of teachers
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain engaged and on task
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

Role Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children within a secondary school is essential
• Degree in education or equivalent qualification
• A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required
• Strong communication skills, both with pupils and staff
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (an enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education, is required)
