Job summary

Connex Education is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Hungerford and surrounding areas from September 2026. This role offers short-term and long-term placements with full training provided.

You’ll oversee lessons when a class teacher is absent, keep students engaged, and follow pre-planned materials while upholding safeguarding and school policies. A DBS update is welcomed or achievable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or in supporting roles.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS on Update Service.
• Ability to follow pre-planned lesson materials and safeguarding procedures.

£120–£140 per day (depending on experience)

Connex Education is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across the Hungerford area from September 2026. With both short-term and long-term opportunities available, this role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or anyone looking to build a rewarding career within education. Full training is provided!

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on task while following pre-planned lesson materials.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supervising classes across a range of secondary school subjects.
• Delivering pre-planned lesson activities and instructions provided by teaching staff.
• Maintaining positive behaviour and creating a productive learning environment.
• Encouraging student participation and engagement throughout lessons.
• Following school policies, safeguarding procedures, and classroom expectations.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence managing groups of students within a classroom environment.
• A reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach to work.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
