Connex Education in Dudley is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join the Secondary Phase. The role involves supervising classes during short-term teacher absences, delivering pre-prepared lessons, and ensuring students stay engaged and on task.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree, demonstrate a patient and empathetic approach, and can work both independently and as part of a team. A commitment to safeguarding and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a secondary school environment is essential.
• Degree in education or equivalent qualification.
• A patient, nurturing and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
• Strong communication skills with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; enhanced DBS via update service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and keep students engaged and on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
