Job summary

Randstad Education in the United Kingdom is actively recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Wallasey. This role offers flexible, school-based work with immediate start and no marking or lesson planning.

You'll supervise KS3/KS4 classes, deliver pre-set work, manage behavior, and report to department heads. A DBS Update Service and strong communication are desirable; you will receive full support from a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• Requirements include experience working with secondary youth (tutoring, coaching, youth work, TA roles).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with teenagers.
• Confidence with classroom management and handling low-level disruption assertively.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise high school classes (KS3 & KS4) during short-term teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-set work and learning instructions provided by the department.
• Maintain strong classroom control using the school's positive behaviour policies.
• Keep students focused and on-task throughout each lesson period.
• Collect completed work and report back to the subject department head.
