Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting for Cover Supervisors in Liverpool to supervise secondary classes (KS3 and KS4) during teacher absences. You will deliver pre-set tasks, maintain classroom control, and support pupils in staying focused and following the planned learning activities.

This role offers flexible schedules including full-time, part-time, and day-to-day supply, with weekly pay and opportunities for CPD training through Randstad. Training is provided to boost safeguarding knowledge.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with secondary youth (e.g., tutoring, coaching, youth work, or TA roles).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with teenagers.
• Confidence with classroom management and handling low-level disruption assertively.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Supervise high school classes (KS3 & KS4) during short-term teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-set work and learning instructions provided by the department.
• Maintain strong classroom control using the school's positive behaviour policies.
• Keep students focused and on-task throughout each lesson period.
• Collect completed work and report back to the subject department head.
