Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting secondary cover supervisors for Clacton-on-Sea and Tendring, offering flexible daily supply opportunities for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Work can be day-to-day, short-term, medium-term or long-term with full-time or part-time options. You'll supervise Key Stage 3 and 4, deliver pre-planned lessons, and support pupil learning across local schools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities provided by the school.
• Maintain a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently.
• Ensure pupils remain engaged, focused and on task.
• Take registers and follow school procedures.
• Support pupils with their learning where appropriate.
• Provide encouragement and maintain high expectations.
• Work alongside teaching, pastoral and support staff.
• Provide feedback to teachers regarding pupil engagement and behaviour.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
• Adapt confidently to different schools, subjects, year groups and classroom environments.
