Job summary

Tradewind Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Barnsley and surrounding areas for the 2026/27 academic year. You'll deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, keeping students engaged and on task in a positive learning environment.

No formal teaching qualification is required, but experience with young people and strong classroom management are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people; school-based experience is desirable but not essential.
• Confident communication with secondary-age students.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Adaptable, organized and reliable.
• Positive attitude and willingness to get involved.
• Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

What Does a Cover Supervisor Do?

We're Looking For People Who:
