Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Shirerbook and surrounding areas, starting in the new academic year for 2026/27 and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work within schools and to gain experience in education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set work, supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, and ensure a positive, productive classroom

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage groups of young people effectively.
• Flexible and proactive approach.
• Previous experience with young people is desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absences.
• Deliver study materials and instructions as set by staff.
• Maintain classroom behaviour per school policy.
• Support students to stay on task with their work.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on outcomes and issues.

East Midlands/ temporary / £95 - 110 per day

We are currently recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Shirerbook and the surrounding areas to start in the new academic year for 2026/27 and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in education, whether you are considering a future in teaching or seeking flexible work within schools.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work to students in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising classes during teacher absences
• Delivering lesson materials and instructions provided by teaching staff
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting students to stay on task with their work
• Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and any issues

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence in managing groups of young people
• A flexible and proactive approach
• Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
