Job summary

EdStaff are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join secondary schools across the St Helens area. This role involves supervising classes, delivering pre-prepared work and maintaining a positive learning environment.

You will support students with their learning, manage behaviour in line with school policies and report concerns to staff. The position offers weekly PAYE pay and opportunities for CPD and long-term roles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Excellent communication skills; professional and reliable approach to work.
• Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

About the role:

EdStaff are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join secondary schools across the St Helens area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy working with young people.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain focused, engaged and well behaved while completing pre-set work. You will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting the smooth running of the school day.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher

• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider school community
