Job summary

EdStaff is seeking dedicated Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Wigan. This role is ideal for graduates or those exploring a future in teaching, supervising classes when teachers are absent and delivering pre-planned materials to keep learners on task.

Responsibilities include promoting positive behaviour, taking registers, supporting pupils aged 11-16, and adhering to school policies. Flexible full-time, part-time or flexible hours available in local schools with weekly PAYE

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Able to engage students aged 11-16 and maintain a confident classroom presence.

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of teachers.
• Deliver pre-planned lesson materials and keep students on task.
• Promote positive behaviour and support student learning.
• Take accurate registers and report concerns to staff.

• Supervise classes across all key stages (KS3 and 4) in the absence of subject teachers
• Deliver pre-planned lesson materials and ensure students remain on task

• Adhere to school policies and procedures

Essential requirements:

• Degree or equivalent qualification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
• Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
