Job summary

EdStaff is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in the St Helens area. You will supervise classes in the absence of teachers, deliver prepared lesson plans, and help maintain a positive, safe learning environment to ensure the day runs smoothly.

Ideal candidates are reliable, with strong communication and classroom management skills, able to follow school procedures and safeguarding principles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication skills; professional and reliable approach to work
• Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students complete the work provided
• Maintain a positive, safe and productive classroom environment
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations
• Support students with their learning where appropriate
• Report any concerns regarding student behaviour, safeguarding or welfare to the appropriate member of staff
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lessons and student engagement
• Follow school policies and procedures at all times
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff
