Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors for secondary schools in Rotherham. This role covers days across Key Stages 3 and 4, with September 2026 start and daily rates between £110 and £130 depending on experience. We welcome flexible full-time or part-time arrangements.

You'll manage classrooms, deliver pre-set work, and maintain positive behaviour to keep students focused and engaged. Our schools value supportive staff and provide a straightforward onboarding process.

Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £110 - £130 per day depending on experience

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of mainstream secondary schools across Rotherham, who are looking to appoint Cover Supervisors. These schools are committed to creating positive learning environments where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential, while maintaining high expectations around behaviour, attendance and engagement.

The schools are looking to take on enthusiastic Cover Supervisors on both full-time and part-time bases starting from September 2026. The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain on task and behaviour expectations are maintained throughout lessons.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

Experience working with secondary age students

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

The ability to confidently deliver pre-set work to classes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A flexible and adaptable approach

A genuine passion for supporting young people and education
