Job summary

Wainwright Primary Academy in Mansfield is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support PPA cover across the academy. You will supervise classes during short‑term teacher absences, help create a positive learning environment and support behaviour expectations.

The role suits someone confident with strong communication, able to work independently, and committed to safeguarding. GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above are essential; experience with children is desirable.

Job description

In this role, you will teach classes across the academy to support with PPA cover.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will help create a positive learning environment, support behaviour expectations, and work with individuals or small groups on agreed programmes of work.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching staff,. You will supervise classes during short-term teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with learning.

Essential

• GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Desirable

• Previous experience as a cover supervisor or working with young people
• Leadership or organisational experience in a school or similar setting
• Understanding of the Primary and Early Years curriculum expectations
• Subject knowledge for the primary curriculum in Computing and/or Music
