Job summary

Wainwright Primary Academy, based in Mansfield, seeks a Cover Supervisor to support across classes during short-term teacher absences and to assist with PPA coverage. You will foster a positive learning environment, uphold behaviour expectations, and work with individuals or small groups on set programmes of work.

The role requires confidence, excellent communication, independence, resilience, and IT confidence to use digital tools.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

In this role, you will teach classes across the academy to support with PPA cover.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will help create a positive learning environment, support behaviour expectations, and work with individuals or small groups on agreed programmes of work.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching staff,. You will supervise classes during short-term teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with learning.

• Professional, organised and capable of building strong relationships with staff and students
• Skilled in behaviour management with clear boundaries and consistency
• IT-confident and able to use a range of digital tools

Essential

• GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Desirable

• Previous experience as a cover supervisor or working with young people
• Leadership or organisational experience in a school or similar setting
• Understanding of the Primary and Early Years curriculum expectations
• Subject knowledge for the primary curriculum in Computing and/or Music
