Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to support SEMH provision in Bolton. You will supervise classes during the teacher’s absence, deliver pre-planned work and manage challenging behaviour to keep a positive learning environment.

Experience with secondary pupils in SEMH/SEND settings, strong behaviour management, and an assertive, calm approach are essential. This is full-time, short-term maternity cover starting in September, with PAYE pay and competitive daily rates.

Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £100 - £115 per day

Are you assertive, resilient and able to maintain a calm classroom environment?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an SEMH setting in Bolton, supporting young people across KS3. The setting provides education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs who may display very challenging behaviour.

The school is looking to take on a Cover Supervisor on a full-time, short-term basis from September to provide fixed-term maternity leave cover.

The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher, deliver pre-planned work and confidently manage challenging behaviour while maintaining clear boundaries and a positive learning environment.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEMH or SEND setting
• Experience supporting young people who display challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• A confident and assertive approach
• The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
• A positive and adaptable attitude
