Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream Secondary School in Stoke-on-Trent to recruit a Cover Supervisor for long-term placements and flexible day-to-day work. You will supervise classes across the secondary age range and deliver pre-planned work to keep students engaged.

The successful candidate will have experience with young people, strong classroom and behaviour management, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a flexible, can-do attitude.

Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £110 - £150 per day

The school is looking for a Cover Supervisor for long-term placements, with flexible day-to-day work also available. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise classes across the secondary age range, deliver pre-planned work, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain focused and engaged with their learning.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A flexible and adaptable approach
• A positive 'can-do' attitude
