Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Greater Manchester, offering flexible supply with a minimum of 3 days per week, starting September 2026.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, delivering pre-planned lessons, managing behaviour, and maintaining a safe learning environment while following safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour and keep pupils engaged.
• Support pupils in completing set work.

Cover Supervisors

Location: Greater Manchester
Pay: 110- 140 per day (depending on experience)

Are you confident, reliable and passionate about supporting young people? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking for flexible work within education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of the teacher, ensuring pupils remain on task with the work that has been set while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

The Role

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.
• Support pupils in completing set work.
• Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Follow the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Ideally has experience working with young people in a school, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring or similar setting.
• Confident managing classroom behaviour, including challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available to work a minimum of 3 days per week.
• Adaptable and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Essential Requirements
