TeacherActive is recruiting a part-time Cover Supervisor for a multi-site Alternative Provision School serving Wednesbury and West Bromwich. You will supervise lessons, maintain high behaviour standards, and support pupils with SEMH needs who are at risk of exclusion.

A calm, resilient, adaptable approach and strong relationships with students and staff are essential. We offer CPD courses, market-leading pay, and a PAYE payroll system to ensure correct tax and national insurance.

Qualifications

• Strong behaviour management is essential for managing groups of pupils.
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is required.
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs is advantageous.

About the School

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a multi-site Alternative Provision School based across Wednesbury and West Bromwich. Supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, the school has achieved a Good OFSTED rating and is recognised for its Specialist Taskforce (APST), preventative education through its Centres of Learning, and the introduction of its innovative Centres of Recovery Education (COR), helping students develop both academically and personally.

About the Role

The school is looking to appoint a part-time Cover Supervisor from September. The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for supervising lessons, maintaining high expectations of behaviour, and supporting pupils with SEMH needs who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from mainstream education. Strong behaviour management is essential, alongside the ability to build positive relationships and create a safe, engaging learning environment.

Role Requirements

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students and staff
• A calm, resilient and adaptable approach
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential
