Job summary

Northern Education Trust is seeking an organised, proactive Cover Manager to support the day-to-day operation of our academy. You will oversee the coordination of staff cover, manage Cover Supervisors, liaise with supply agencies and ensure lessons continue with minimal disruption.

You will work closely with academy leaders and teaching staff to safeguard high-quality learning, supervise classes during short-term teacher absences and support the wellbeing and behaviour of students.

• Cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher and supervise whole classes.

Job description

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will oversee the daily coordination of staff cover, manage Cover Supervisors, liaise with supply agencies and ensure lessons continue with minimal disruption. This is a varied and rewarding role that requires excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills. You'll work closely with academy leaders and teaching staff, helping to ensure high-quality learning continues and manage student behaviour whilst supervising whole classes during short term teacher absences. This role will involve covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher. The Academy has undergone rapid and continuous improvement since joing NET in 2022 and we have celebrated KS4 results that are well above the national average as well as being amongst the top performing schools in the North East.
