Job summary

Randstad Inhouse Services is recruiting a Counterbalance Forklift Driver for a long-term assignment in Grays/West Thurrock, Essex. The role operates a relay shift pattern with early mornings and late-night starts, and offers weekly pay at £16.42 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance).

You will move pallets between palletization, wrapper, floor spots, and conveyors, while maintaining safety and a clean work area. An in-date FLT license and 2+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating a Counterbalance FLT.
• In-date, accredited license (RTITB, ITSSAR, or AITT).
• Willingness to commit to relay shift pattern.
• Basic computing skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proactive, energetic, results-driven attitude.

Responsibilities

• Move pallets between palletization, wrapper, floor spots, and conveyor infeed.
• Move empty pallets from rack to floor.
• Operate the wrapper machine as required.
• Maintain safety and area cleanliness.
• Ensure correct placement of pallets in marked spots.
• Maintain awareness in pedestrian areas.

Position Details

• Location: Grays, West Thurrock, Essex, RM20 4AL
• Shift Pattern: Relay shift pattern (Week 1: Tue-Fri 06:00-16:00; Week 2: Mon-Thu 20:00-06:00)
• Contract Type: Long-term assignment
• Pay Rate: £16.42 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)

Responsibilities

• As a Counterbalance FLT Driver, you will play a critical role in the warehouse operation. Your daily tasks will include:
• Movement of loaded pallets from palletization to wrapper, wrapper to floor spots, and floor spots to conveyor infeed.
• Efficient movement of empty pallets from rack to floor.
• Operating the wrapper machine as required.
• Maintaining high standards of safety and area cleanliness.
• Ensuring accurate placement of pallets in designated marked floor spots.
• Maintaining a high level of awareness when working in pedestrian-interface areas.

Qualifications

• To succeed in this role, you should be a self-motivated professional with the following requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience operating a Counterbalance FLT.
• Must hold an in-date, accredited license (RTITB, ITSSAR, or AITT).
• Ability to commit to the long-term, Relay shift pattern.
• Possess basic computing skills and the ability to effectively follow operational instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive, energetic, and "can-do" attitude with a results-driven mindset.
