Job summary

QS Recruitment Ltd is hiring Counterbalance FLT Drivers for a busy furniture-handling operation in the UK. The role offers reliable weekday hours, ongoing temporary work with a view to permanent placement for the right candidate.

You will operate a counterbalance forklift, move stock, load and unload deliveries, and maintain safety and organisation in the warehouse. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence required.
• Experience operating counterbalance forklifts.
• Flexi forklift experience beneficial but not required.
• Dependable and safety-conscious; good attention to detail.
• UK driving licence and own transport if travelling from outside local area.

Job Description

Looking for a new warehouse opportunity that offers reliable weekday hours and the possibility of a permanent contract? We’re recruiting Counterbalance FLT Drivers to join a busy furniture-handling operation, with ongoing work available for suitable candidates.

This role is well suited to an experienced forklift operator who enjoys keeping stock moving, working alongside a team and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation.

Your main responsibility will be operating a counterbalance forklift to move furniture products safely between different areas of the warehouse. You’ll help manage the movement of stock, load and unload deliveries and ensure products are positioned correctly and handled with care.

As part of the wider warehouse team, you’ll also help keep the site clean and orderly, complete regular forklift safety checks and report any equipment issues promptly. From time to time, you may be asked to assist with other warehouse duties to help the operation run smoothly.

Duration: This is an ongoing temporary position offering full-time hours, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: The hourly rate is £13.75, and you’ll have the opportunity to accrue up to 28 days of annual leave per year. You’ll also benefit from consistent weekday hours, no standard weekend shifts and the opportunity to progress into permanent employment. Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Working Hours: You’ll work 07:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, giving you a regular daytime schedule and free weekends under the standard working pattern.

Experience & Qualifications

A valid Counterbalance FLT licence and previous experience operating this type of forklift are essential. Experience with Flexi forklifts would be beneficial, although it is not required.

You’ll need to be dependable, safety-conscious and able to handle stock and equipment responsibly. Good attention to detail and the ability to work well with colleagues are also important. Candidates travelling from outside the local area must have a full UK driving licence and their own transport.
