Job summary

Triumph Consultants are seeking an experienced Council Tax Officer to support its client's busy Revenues team in Northampton.

The successful candidate will have recent Local Authority experience in Council Tax Billing or Revenues, strong knowledge of legislation and discounts, and be proficient with MRI Revenues & Benefits.

Pay is £19.71 per hour PAYE, with hybrid working 1-2 days in the office each week, a 3-month initial contract, and a basic DBS check.

Qualifications

• Recent Local Authority experience in Council Tax Billing or Revenues.
• Strong knowledge of Council Tax legislation and billing processes.
• Experience processing discounts, exemptions, disregards and Council Tax Reduction.
• Experience using MRI Revenues & Benefits (formerly Academy).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update Council Tax accounts accurately.
• Process billing changes, discounts, exemptions and reductions.
• Apply Council Tax legislation to ensure correct billing.
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email and letter.
