Job summary

4Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a Council Tax Billing Officer in West Northamptonshire. The role is on-site 2 days per week and pays £21.78 per hour.

You will be responsible for accurate processing of Council Tax billing and for delivering high levels of customer service within a Local Authority Revenues team. Experience with Council Tax legislation, discounts, exemptions and Council Tax Reduction schemes is essential, as is familiarity with MRI Revenues & Benefits.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in Council Tax billing within a Local Authority environment.
• Strong knowledge of Council Tax legislation and billing processes.
• Experience processing discounts, exemptions, disregards and Council Tax Reduction schemes.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience using MRI Revenues & Benefits (formerly Academy) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Administration and maintenance of Council Tax accounts. Processing changes in liability, billing amendments and account updates.
• Assessing and processing discounts, exemptions, disregards and Council Tax Reduction applications.
• Applying Council Tax legislation and ensuring accurate account determination.
• Responding to customer inquiries via telephone, email and written correspondence. Meeting targets and service standards within a busy Revenues environment.
• Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders as required.
