Job summary

South Norfolk and Broadland Councils are seeking a friendly, professional individual to join our busy Council Tax team as a first point of contact for residents. You will provide advice and support across Council Tax enquiries, handle billing and changes, and assist residents in understanding their bills.

You'll work across telephone, email, correspondence and face-to-face queries, negotiating with those behind on payments while upholding accurate processing and high customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Experience in Council Tax, Business Rates or customer service preferred.
• Ability to handle high volume inquiries by phone.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
• Willingness to undergo DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support across Council Tax enquiries.
• Handle billing and collection of Council Tax and process changes.
• Explain Council Tax rules and regulations to residents.
• Negotiate with residents who are behind with payments and resolve queries.
