Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Edinburgh is seeking a Cost Engineer to support major projects with accurate cost reporting and EV metrics. You will drive cost performance reporting and collaborate with project teams to maintain baselines and forecast costs.

We look for graduates in a relevant discipline, with cost controls experience; CIMA qualification welcomed. The role is based on site in Edinburgh with a strong focus on cost management and finance alignment.

Qualifications

• Graduate in a relevant discipline with proven experience in major project controls.
• CIMA qualification welcomed as an indicator of cost and commercial acumen.
• Experience delivering cost engineering across large programmes or projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost control data structures to track and control actual costs.
• Establish and align the project control budget with baselines.
• Track actual costs for internal and external expenditures against controls.
• Monitor accruals and commitments against budget constraints.
• Build project forecasts including ETC and EAC.
• Deliver accurate and timely Earned Value reporting for the project.
• Track contingency and exposure from risks.
• Monitor change control to stay aligned with baselines.
• Identify key cost trends to inform future changes.
