Job summary

Mastercopy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair multifunction printers and copiers across our North East client base. The role is field-based from our Thornaby HQ, with Monday–Friday hours.

You will diagnose faults, install and configure devices, manage van stock and build strong client relationships, while supporting fleet audits and meter readings. A real career path with ongoing training awaits in a friendly family business.

Qualifications

• Experience as copier/MFD/field service engineer.
• Strong mechanical/electromechanical fault finding skills.
• Familiar with major printer brands listed.
• Understanding of networking and print/scan configuration.
• Customer focused, self managing and reliable.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with PaperCut or similar print management software.

Field Service Engineer · Full time, permanent

Reports to: Field Service Manager

Location: Field based across the North East, from our Thornaby HQ

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday

To install, maintain and repair multifunction printers and copiers across our client base, delivering excellent service and keeping our clients' print running with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair multifunction devices and printers at client sites.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and software faults, resolving them first time wherever possible.
• Install and configure new devices, including network, print queue and scan to email or folder setup.
• Manage your van stock of consumables and parts efficiently.
• Build strong client relationships and represent Mastercopy professionally on every visit.
• Complete service records and update our systems accurately.
• Support the print team with fleet audits and meter readings.

Essential skills and experience

• Proven experience as a copier, MFD or field service engineer.
• Strong mechanical and electromechanical fault finding skills.
• Knowledge of major manufacturers such as Konica Minolta, HP, Kyocera, Ricoh, Sharp or Develop.
• A good understanding of networking and print and scan configuration.
• Customer focused, self managing and reliable.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience with print management software such as PaperCut, and client portal tools.
