Chestnut Lodge care home is our newly renovated care home, who are looking for a Cook to join their team, cooking for our residents on weekdays.

The Cook is an important part of our team, providing nutritious hearty foods for our service users.

Chestnut Lodge is a 43-bed modern care home, recently renovated, with well-maintained grounds and large communal areas for our service users to enjoy. It features a new kitchen for you to make your own!

About the role

Nutrition is a key part of providing excellent care to our service users. As a Cook, you will ensure dietary and cultural requirements are met, serving meals that promote wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals in line with dietary guidelines and requirements
• Maintain daily cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
• Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and produce
• Apply knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations
• Engage with service users to reflect their food preferences
• Hold a Food Hygiene Level 2 certification
• Have previous experience in food preparation within a commercial, domestic, hospital, or care setting
• Display a warm, approachable personality to connect with service users and vulnerable adults
