DS Smith Plc in Burscough seeks an Improvement Engineer to boost reliability, performance and efficiency of production assets in the Conversion area. You will tackle chronic losses, reduce downtime and deliver sustainable improvements across finishing equipment such as FFGs and die-cutters.

You will collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to optimise maintenance routines, improve machine uptime and ensure safety, quality and compliance with site standards.

Qualifications

• A recognised engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Maintenance Engineering.
• Experience maintaining high-speed converting, printing, packaging or similar multi-station production machinery.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills, with experience of servo motors, precision gearboxes, pneumatic actuators and electronic sensors.

Responsabilités

• Deliver planned, preventative and corrective maintenance across the Conversion area.
• Act as technical subject matter expert for assigned assets and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation faults quickly and effectively.
• Calibrate and maintain high-speed converting equipment and components to ensure precise product quality.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated systems to minimise downtime and waste.
