Job summary

DS Smith Plc is seeking a Reliability Engineer for our Burscough site. You will drive asset reliability, optimise maintenance strategies and leverage data to reduce downtime across the manufacturing assets.

Working closely with Engineering and Operations, you will enhance equipment availability, safety and quality, while delivering sustainable site improvements and supporting CAPEX projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline or a time-served engineer with significant manufacturing experience.
• Experience in Reliability, Maintenance or Engineering, with strong preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Experience using reliability techniques such as FMEA/FMECA, RCA, PM Optimisation and criticality analysis; SAP or similar CMMS experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the asset care programme across the full equipment lifecycle, including preventative, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance; align strategies to criticality and business priorities.
• Develop and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance strategies using OEM guidance and RCA/RCM principles.
• Analyse maintenance and performance data to identify bad actors, prioritise opportunities and improve asset availability and downtime performance.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis and implement sustainable solutions to eliminate recurring failures.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Planner/Scheduler to plan, schedule and deliver maintenance activities and manage critical spares and service agreements.
