DS Smith Plc in Burscough is seeking a Corrugator Improvement Engineer to enhance reliability and efficiency of high-speed corrugating lines and related systems. The role includes preventative and corrective maintenance across a designated area, working with Production and Maintenance to maximise uptime and reduce waste.

The successful candidate will hold an engineering qualification and have experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and steam systems, PLCs and CMMS tools.

Qualifikationen

• Eng qualified maintenance professional with a background in heavy industrial machinery.
• Experience with corrugating or similar continuous-process manufacturing is desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and root-cause analysis skills.

Aufgaben

• Deliver planned, preventive and corrective maintenance across your designated production area.
• Act as the technical SME for assigned equipment and assets.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam-system faults quickly and effectively.
• Support reliable operation of high-speed corrugating equipment and associated systems.
• Perform precision alignment, calibration and installation of heavy machinery and corrugating rolls.
• Maintain and troubleshoot starch preparation, pumping, piping and adhesive systems.
• Test and troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, drives and automated control systems.
• Support identification and elimination of chronic equipment losses and recurring failures.
• Use root-cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out predictive maintenance, including vibration analysis, thermal imaging and ultrasonic testing.
• Review and improve maintenance routines to increase asset reliability and performance.
• Work with Production teams to minimise production disruption.
• Record maintenance activity, findings and actions in the CMMS.
• Support continuous improvement projects site-wide.
• Ensure maintenance activities are safe and compliant with site procedures and standards.
