Job summary

DS Smith in Burscough is seeking a Focus Improvement Technician for the Corrugator area. You will improve reliability, performance and uptime of high-speed lines, starch systems and boiler-related equipment, while supporting safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role involves preventative and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as calibration and installation of heavy machinery.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification (apprenticeship/NVQ 3/4 or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining high-speed, heavy industrial machinery in corrugating or similar environments.
• Strong mechanical engineering skills incl. hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems and precision alignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned, preventative and corrective maintenance across your designated production area.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot starch preparation, pumping, piping and adhesive systems.
• Record maintenance actions in the CMMS and support site reliability improvements.
