Job summary

Royal IHC Ltd. is seeking an experienced Control Engineer to join the Control Systems Team.

The role involves writing specifications, developing PLC code and HMI/SCADA solutions for Royal IHC equipment, and providing technical support through commissioning and testing across the project lifecycle. You will manage workloads, own tasks from start to finish, and ensure delivery within time and budget while maintaining high software quality standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent technical knowledge of Control, Automation and Safety Systems.
• Appropriate Computer/Engineering qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience.
• Relevant experience in design of control & automation systems.
• Programming of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems.
• Commissioning & testing of industrial control systems.
• Involvement throughout the whole project lifecycle: design, coding, testing, installation and documentation.
• Experience working for clients in the marine, subsea, oil & gas and renewables market.
• Recent experience in a bespoke engineering environment.
• Experience working to ISO 9001 or equivalent in a project-based organisation.
• High level of competence with IT systems and tools.

Responsibilities

• Write specifications and develop PLC code & HMI/SCADA solutions for Royal IHC equipment.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including commissioning and testing of equipment.
• Efficiently manage and prioritise workload.
• Take ownership of tasks from assignment through to delivery within the specified time and budget.
• Deliver a high standard of work in line with our software quality control procedures.
