Royal IHC is seeking an experienced Control Engineer to join our Control Systems Team. You will design control and automation systems for a range of Royal IHC products in the Offshore Energy sector, ensuring client needs are met professionally and on time.

You will write specifications, develop PLC code and HMI/SCADA solutions, support during construction, and oversee commissioning and testing. The role requires experience across the project lifecycle and delivering to ISO9001 standards.

Competenze

• Engineering degree or HND with industrial experience.
• Experience designing control & automation systems.
• Programming PLC, HMI & SCADA systems.
• Experience commissioning & testing industrial control systems.
• Involvement through design, coding, testing, installation and documentation.
• Experience with marine, subsea, oil & gas or renewables sectors.
• Experience in ISO9001 or equivalent project-based environment.

_ The role: _

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Control Engineer to join our Control Systems Team.

The successful candidate will design control & automation systems for a range of Royal IHC products in the Offshore Energy sector; ensuring solutions clients’ needs are met in a professional & timely manner.

You will be responsible for:

• Writing specifications, developing PLC code & HMI/SCADA solutions for a variety of Royal IHC equipment.
• Providing technical support during the construction phase of projects; including involvement in the commissioning & testing of equipment.
• Efficient management & prioritisation of workload.
• Taking ownership of the tasks assigned through to successful delivery within the specified time & budget.
• Delivering a high standard of work in line with our software quality control procedures.

Job requirements:

• Excellent technical knowledge of Control, Automation and Safety Systems
• Appropriate Computer/Engineering related qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience
• Relevant experience in:
• Design of control & automation systems
• Programming of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems
• Commissioning & Testing of industrial control systems
• Involvement throughout the whole project lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and documentation
• Working for clients in the marine, subsea, oil & gas and renewables market.
• Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment
• Role requires a mixture of working from Royal IHC Ltd Grey Street office, Port of Blyth production facility and other client sites / vessels around the world.
• Experience of working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organisation.
• A high level of competence with IT systems and tools

Desirable Skills / Attributes:

• Experience of Siemens TIA Portal / Unified (preferred)
• Experience of Rockwell or Mitsubishi platforms
• Experience of configuring & commissioning Variable Speed Drives (Siemens, Nidec & ABB)
• Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore / Subsea environment
• Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)
