Job summary

Automation Experts Ltd in Oxfordshire is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to join a global engineering and automation specialist. You will design, program, test and commission PLC control systems and develop SCADA/HMI applications for real-world, international projects.

You will work with Siemens TIA Portal and other platforms, troubleshoot and optimise systems, support installation, and contribute to control strategies while maintaining strong customer-facing communication.

Qualifications

• Solid ability to write PLC & HMI from concept.
• Competent with SCADA software design.
• Ability to understand and modify electrical drawings.
• Previous site experience including commissioning.
• Able to work autonomously with strong customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and commission PLC control systems.
• Develop SCADA and HMI applications.
• Troubleshoot and optimise existing automation systems.
• Support installation and commissioning activities.
• Work with modern SCADA platforms such as Ignition and WinCC.
• Contribute to control strategies and system architecture.
