The TGW Retrofit team are looking for an experienced controls engineer to join the department as a Lead Commissioning Engineer.
You will be working closely with the controls project manager to develop and provide control system functions for retrofit projects. These projects can range in value up to a few million pounds and really need an experienced controls engineer to take the reins and ensure the engineering is completed on time and to spec.
You’ll be working on roles across Northern Europe and will likely enjoy the rush of working on multiple smaller projects vs one large one at a time.
WHAT YOULL BE HANDLING

This process will involve collaboration with other departments within the business such as Sales, LTS, Realisation and System Integration Management Teams.
- To work with systems and hardware design teams, to produce functional electro‑mechanical layouts and electrical panels. These designs may require the introduction of new technologies.
- As a key member of a small team, there will be opportunities to carry out SYEC work and HWEC work. Training will be provided in both these disciplines.
- Define and agree interface points and requirements with Warehouse Management System Teams.

- To emulate and test PLC code where required.
- To develop interface requirements for WCS systems, HMIs and SCADA.
- Test, evaluate and perfect the PLC software and produce documentation and design guides so that the PLC commissioning teams can understand and implement this software.
- Maintain revision control across PLC code libraries developed by the team and document all changes.
- Work as part of the commissioning team on retrofit projects to ensure knowledge transfer is complete and all issues have been resolved with the newly developed PLC code.
- Promote and steer company standards and ensure best practice is implemented in the design.
