Job summary

Mitie in Craigavon is seeking an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Operator to join a friendly, supportive team. The role involves monitoring alarm and CCTV signals, contacting emergency services, and ensuring clear communication across client sites.

The position follows an alternating Saturday/Sunday pattern from 6am to 6pm, with a view to providing 24/7 surveillance. Applicants should have a 5-year checkable history and be prepared for PSNI checks plus BS5979/BS7858 screening.

Qualifications

• Must have a 5-year checkable history.
• Must pass PSNI check and BS5979/BS7858 screening.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
• Background in security, customer service, or emergency response preferred but not essential.
• Full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitor incoming alarm and CCTV signals from client sites.
• Contact emergency services, keyholders, or relevant contacts during alarm activations.
• Provide accurate communication.
• Document incidents and actions clearly and concisely.
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure effective response.
• Work as part of a team to maintain 24/7 surveillance and response capabilities.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, quick decision-making, and calm under pressure.

Main Duties:

As an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Operator within MITIE, your responsibilities will include:

• -Monitoring incoming alarm and CCTV signals from multiple client sites.
• -Contacting emergency services, keyholders, or relevant contacts in the event of an alarm activation.
• -Providing accurate communication.
• -Documenting all incidents and actions taken in a clear and concise manner.
• -Following standard operating procedures and guidelines to ensure effective response to all situations.
• -Working effectively as part of a team to maintain 24/7 surveillance and response capabilities.
• -Demonstrating strong attention to detail, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Requirements for this role typically include proficiency in using alarm monitoring systems, excellent communication skills, the ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends, and a background check for security clearance. A background in security, customer service, or emergency response is often preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

You must successfully pass a PSNI check as per BS5979 and BS7858 screening as per industry standard.
