Job summary

Wood is seeking a Construction, Commissioning and Operations CRO for a 12-month rotation, mobilising from Aberdeen. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of the installation, and ensuring on-spec exports while maintaining safety and compliant permit-to-work processes.

Key duties include managing ESD/FGS systems, coordinating with the Operations support team, adjusting production rates, and overseeing shutdowns and start-ups to minimise loss and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade papers or apprenticeship may be required.
• Previous CRO experience as a baseline requirement.

Responsibilities

• Safe, efficient and effective operation of the installation.

• Issue and administer the installation’s Permit to Work and related docs.
• Interface with Operations Team and oncoming shift personnel for documentation and maintenance prep.
• Adjust production rates as required and monitor start-ups/shutdowns.
• Maintain audit systems and electronic business records.

Job description

Wood require a CRO for one of our contracts. This would be for 12 months and it is a 2/3 rotation, mobilising from Aberdeen.

1. The safe, efficient and effective operation of the installation
2. Delivery of on-specification hydrocarbon exports
3. The safe production of hydrocarbons in accordance with Company business needs, production plan and targets.
4. Operate and manage ESD & FGS systems and associated cause and effects (C&E) to be able to respond to alarms in the appropriate manner
5. Ensures all procedures for the application and use of inhibits and overrides are complied with at all times.
6. Issue, control and administer the installation’s Permit to Work and related documentation systems ensuring accurate and timely availability of such documentation
7. Interface as needed with other Operations Team and oncoming shift personnel, the Operations support Team and other relevant personnel with regard to documentation and the preparation of plant and equipment for maintenance.
8. Adjust production rates as necessary and / or required.
9. Monitor and oversee planned and unplanned shutdowns and associated start-ups via the central control panel ensuring plant and personnel safety at all times.
10. Ensure production loss, due to planned or unplanned shutdowns is minimised.
11. Identify and operate at the optimum process parameters for the installation
12. Understand the work plan and liquidate work safely and on time.
13. Administer site audit systems
14. Maintain various electronic business systems
15. Provide local support to Head Office projects and Asset Support Team initiatives

9. In the event of an emergency, carry out such duties as identified in the emergency response procedure or station bill and participate in emergency response team training
10. Train other personnel as directed; take on multi-tasking duties as and when competency proved in skills defined by Client and act flexibly to cover temporary projects and other roles as required
11. Actively suggest improvements to installation processes
12. Lead/attend Hazops/ Hazids/Work Place Risk Assessments/Tool Box Talks as and when required
13. Participate in audits and inspections as directed by Line Manager or Client
14. Ensure that any defects in working practices, machinery, tools, equipment, protective measures and protective clothing are immediately brought to the attention of management so that steps can be instigated to remedy the defect or take the equipment out of service until repaired or made safe

15. Provide a detailed handover log to provide sufficient information to the oncoming shift team to continue safe and efficient operation.
