Job summary

SSE plc is recruiting a Contract Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team in the Network Operations space. You will support pre- and post-contract activities for a £600-700m project portfolio with values up to £70-80m, focusing on value for money and robust commercial processes.

The role suits a Quantity Surveyor with 5+ years post-graduate experience, with NEC knowledge and experience in contract administration.

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification with professional membership (RICS/CICES).
5+ years post graduate experience in cost/contract management and estimation.
Experience drafting and interpreting commercial contracts; familiarity with NEC and standard form contracts.

Responsibilities

Negotiate contract terms and prices for high-value projects in Network Operations.
Oversee post-contract commercial management, change control and compensation events.
Support asset handover with robust Service Contracts for HVDC, cables, FACTS and GIS.
Identify improvements and opportunities within P&C for Network Operations.
Manage cost and forecast reporting, ensuring adherence to Commercial Manual principles.
