Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is working with an established tiling contractor in the North East of England to appoint a Contracts Manager to deliver multiple tiling contracts across the region. You will act as the main link between site teams, clients and commercial functions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or similar operational management position within construction.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, site coordination and subcontractor management.
• Good commercial awareness, including cost control, variations and contract profitability.
• The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with main contractors, clients and site teams.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple commercial tiling contracts from award through to completion.
• Coordinating site managers, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors to ensure projects run efficiently.
• Planning labour, materials, plant and resources to meet programme requirements.
• Liaising with main contractors, clients and other trades to maintain strong working relationships.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, variations and profitability.
• Identifying and managing variations, additional works and contractual changes.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
• Monitoring progress against agreed programmes and resolving operational issues as they arise.
• Attending site meetings and providing regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
• Managing snagging, defects, practical completion and final accounts.
• Supporting the continued growth and development of the business through effective contract management and client retention.
