Job summary

Linear Recruitment, on behalf of a North East England tiling specialist, seeks a Contracts Manager to lead multiple tiling contracts. You will coordinate site teams and subcontractors, liaise with clients and main contractors, and drive cost efficiency and timely completion across the region.

You will manage from handover through to final account, ensuring safety, quality and profitability while maintaining strong client relationships and growth for the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Contracts Manager or similar role in construction.

• Strong understanding of programmes, site coordination and subcontractor management.
• Good commercial awareness including cost control and profitability.

Contracts Manager – Tiling & Specialist Flooring

Our client, an established tiling contractor operating across the North East of England, is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team.

Specialising in commercial tiling projects, the business works across a range of sectors, delivering high-quality installations to main contractors, developers and commercial clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and organised construction professional to take ownership of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

We are seeking someone with a strong background in tiling, specialist subcontracting or a related construction trade, who can confidently manage contracts from initial handover through to final account.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple tiling contracts across the region. You will act as the key link between site teams, clients, main contractors and the company's commercial and operational functions.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple commercial tiling contracts from award through to completion.
• Coordinating site managers, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors to ensure projects run efficiently.
• Planning labour, materials, plant and resources to meet programme requirements.
• Liaising with main contractors, clients and other trades to maintain strong working relationships.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, variations and profitability.
• Identifying and managing variations, additional works and contractual changes.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
• Monitoring progress against agreed programmes and resolving operational issues as they arise.
• Attending site meetings and providing regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
• Managing snagging, defects, practical completion and final accounts.
• Supporting the continued growth and development of the business through effective contract management and client retention.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or similar operational management position within construction.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• A strong understanding of construction programmes, site coordination and subcontractor management.
• Good commercial awareness, including cost control, variations and contract profitability.
• The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with main contractors, clients and site teams.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
