We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with substantial experience in this area of law and practice. This role offers an opportunity to develop and enhance your skills through varied and quality work.
You will work as part of a team of Contract Lawyers, providing proactive legal advice on issues such as Public Contract Regulations, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC and JCT Construction Contracts, and general contract queries. You will manage a full, varied, and demanding caseload.
Senior Lawyers are expected to actively participate in team management, deputise for the Principal Solicitor, and contribute to delivering first-class legal services.
If you are effective, dynamic, and have experience in managing and supervising teams, motivating others, and working collaboratively, we want to hear from you!
Shortlisting Criteria:
The role is hybrid, with remote work considered. Occasional office attendance may be required, and the candidate will need to collect their laptop from the Reigate office on the first day.
The role involves managing a team of lawyers, providing leadership, supervision, and expert legal advice to the County Council, its members, officers, and committees.
You will contribute to the wider management of Legal Services, model the council's values, and deliver innovative solutions with minimal supervision.
You will support and help manage the team and its resources, aiming to reduce reliance on external legal support. Advocacy duties may be required.
The role includes supporting the Monitoring Officer and contributing to staff training on legal updates and emerging issues.
